Underground temperatures stay around 8–12°C year-round. Bring a jacket even in summer. Comfortable shoes with grip are essential for tunnel floors.
Book Ahead
Most bunker museums have limited opening days and require advance booking. Many only open on select weekends or by appointment. Always check schedules before travelling.
Season Matters
Alpine bunkers like Sasso San Gottardo are only accessible June to October when the passes are open. Lowland sites like Fort de Chillon and Sonnenberg operate year-round.
Swiss Travel Pass
If visiting multiple bunkers across regions, the Swiss Travel Pass covers all trains, buses, and boats. Several bunker museums also offer discounts for pass holders.
